Week 4’s top five games

No. 2 Homewood-Flossmoor (3-0) at Lockport (3-0), Friday, 7:30 p.m.

Two undefeated teams go head-to-head in another big game for the Vikings, who moved up to the No. 2 spot in the Super 25 after a huge win over No. 7 Lincoln-Way East in Week 3. H-F was led by quarterback Bryant Wright, who threw three touchdown passes to Northern Illinois commit Tyrice Ritchie. Lockport is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2009. The Porters after knocked off Southwest Suburban Conference foe Lincoln-Way Central 16-14 last week.

Montini (1-2) at No. 5 Brother Rice (3-0), Friday, 7:30 p.m.

It’s now or never for Montini, the defending Class 6A state champions. Although the Broncos opened with one of the toughest schedules in the area, they are in need of a string of wins. Brother Rice is home to one of the most talented prospects in the area, Illinois recruit and senior wide receiver Ricky Smalling. The 6-2, 195 pound athlete isn’t the only impact player on the team, running back Xavian Valladay had five touchdowns in the Week 2 victory against Crete-Monee. For Montini, big players have been senior running backs Will Smith and Western Michigan recruit Prince Walker. Walker has been battling injury to open the season, and only played in part of Montini’s loss to Fenwick last week.

No. 7 Lincoln-Way East (2-1) at No. 10 Bolingbrook (2-1), Friday, 7:30 p.m.

A matchup of two top ten teams. Lincoln-Way East lost 35-30 to No. 2 Homewood-Flossmoor last week. Bolingbrook has been building momentum since a Week 1 loss to No. 4 Glenbard West. Southwest Suburban Conference play is officially underway, and Bolingbrook has shown that offense can be an explosive part of its season. Raiders quarterback Anthony Vespo passed for 170 yards and three touchdowns in a 55-7 victory over Stagg in Week 3.

No. 19 Palatine (3-0) at New Trier (2-1), Friday, 7:30 p.m.

New Trier, which just barely dropped out of the Super 25, is still a force to be reckoned with. The Trevians take on undefeated Palatine, which is averaging 37 points while only allowing 13. Pirates quarterback Zach Oles is dangerous running or passing. Trevians quarterback Clay Czyzynski has had a solid start to the season, and showed he was a standout athlete in last week’s 45-28 loss to Fremd.

Naperville North (3-0) at Lake Park (2-1), Friday, 7:30 p.m.

After back-to-back losing seasons, Naperville North is a new-look team. At 3-0 the Huskies have already surpassed their win total from 2015. In Week 3 they took down Wheaton North in a convincing 33-7 win. Running back Eric Wright, who racked up 120 yards and two touchdowns, was instrumental in the win. The Lancers only loss this season came at the hands of No. 13 Waubonsie Valley in Week 1, and they have talent on the roster with Michigan State recruit Jacub Panasuik. Lake Park defeated DeKalb 28-22 last week.
